Attention to candidates for vacant positions of judges in appellate courts (Civil Specialization)

Please be informed that on January 13, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine adopted a decision to admit 410 candidates, who successfully passed the cognitive abilities test, to the third stage of the qualification exam within the competition for vacant positions of judges in appellate courts, announced by the Commission’s decision                 № 94/zp-23 dated September 14, 2023 (as amended).

The coded and decoded results of testing the cognitive abilities of the participants of the competition to the courts of appeal (civil specialisation) have been approved

Please be  informed, that on January 13, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine decided to approve the coded and decoded results of the cognitive ability test taken on January 08, 09 and 10, 2025, by candidates for vacant positions of judges in the courts of appeal (civil specialisation) within the framework of the competition announced by the Commission’s decision 94/zp-23 dated  September 14, 2023 (as amended).

The Commission has determined a special procedure for military personnel to submit documents for participation in the selection of local court judges

On January 15, 2025, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of determining the peculiarities of submitting documents for participation in the selection of local court judges by persons performing military service.

The Commission recommends secondment of two judges to other courts

On January 15, 2025, the First Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of submitting a motion recommending the secondment of judges to another court of the same level and specialisation for the administration of justice.

Due to the change in the territorial jurisdiction of court cases, the Commission decided to submit a submission to the High Council of Justice with a recommendation for a one-year secondment of :

The secondment of judges to the Zhytomyrskyi Raion Court of Zhytomyr Oblast is scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, by the decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a proposal from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, a judge may, with his/her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice.
