On July 20, 2023, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of continuing the competition procedures that were not completed by the previous composition of the Commission.
In particular, it was decided to extend two competitions.
Thus, the competition announced by the Commission’s decision of August 05, 2019 No. 146/zp-19 for 7 vacant judicial positions in local general courts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions was extended for candidates for the position of a judge who meet the requirements of paragraph seven of clause 13 of section III “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice”.
The HQCJ also extended the competition announced by the Commission’s decision No. 145/zp-19 dated August 05, 2019, for 35 vacant judicial positions in local courts for candidates who meet the requirements of the third paragraph of clause 13 of section III “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice”.
These competitions have been continued from the stage of determining the results of the special vetting and admission of candidates to the competition.
Determination of the results of the special vetting, admission to the competition, as well as the ranking of its participants will be carried out by the Commission within the First Chamber. The relevant cases will be re-distributed among its members in an automated manner.
The decision to recommend candidates for appointment as judges will be made by the plenary.
