On 28 October 2026, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, sitting in plenary session, considered the issue of confirming the ability of two candidates for judicial office to administer justice in a general court of appeal.
Denys Baronin confirmed his ability to administer justice at the Kharkiv Court of Appeal.
Olena Bikezina failed to confirm her ability to administer justice at the Poltava Court of Appeal.
Having also considered the termination of a candidate’s participation in the competition for vacant judicial positions at courts of appeal, the Commission decided to terminate the participation of Viktoriia Yakovleva in the competition for positions at the Kyiv Court of Appeal.
Please be reminded, 62 candidates applied for 47 vacant judicial positions at the Kharkiv Court of Appeal. In total, 56 candidates were interviewed: 40 confirmed their ability to administer justice, 14 did not, and two will be interviewed by the Commission sitting in plenary session. Five candidates have ceased participating in the competition.
Sixteen candidates applied for 15 vacant judicial positions at the Poltava Court of Appeal. In total, 14 candidates were interviewed: seven confirmed their ability to administer justice in a general court of appeal, five did not, and two are awaiting interviews with the Commission sitting in plenary session. One candidate has ceased participating in the competition.
93 candidates applied for 45 vacant judicial positions at the Kyiv Court of Appeal. Interviews were conducted with 79 candidates: 33 confirmed their ability to administer justice, 31 did not, and 15 will be interviewed by the Commission sitting in plenary session. Five candidates have ceased participating in the competition.
