On December 15 and 16, 2023, the Commission will form a rating of candidates for the position of a judge in local general courts. At this stage of the competition, 394 candidates will choose among 500 vacant positions of judges in local courts of general jurisdiction.
In order to participate in the formation of the respective ranking, candidates notified the Commission of their intention to apply for the position of a judge of general jurisdiction. They are able to choose vacant seats in local general courts in 24 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv.
The largest number of vacancies in local courts of general jurisdiction for which the competition has been announced is in the following regions: Kharkiv Oblast — 59 vacancies, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — 55 vacancies, Odesa Oblast — 43 vacancies, Kyiv and Poltava Oblasts — 31 vacancies each, and in the Kyiv City — 26 vacancies.
Candidates with the highest ranking in the reserve have the opportunity to be the first to choose any vacant position without any restrictions regarding the location of the court. The procedure of rating the competition participants is broadcast live on the Commission’s official YouTube channel on the Internet. In this way, the Commission demonstrates full transparency and integrity in conducting the competition and complying with its terms and conditions.
As a reminder, on September 14, 2023, the HQCJ announced a competition to fill 560 vacant judicial positions in local courts for candidates enrolled in the reserves. On December 1, 2023, the ranking of candidates for local administrative courts was formed, and on December 8 and 10, 2023, the ranking of candidates for local commercial courts was formed. These ratings have already been approved by the HQCJ.
