Today, on April 17, 2025, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine conducted searches at the premises of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, namely in the office of the Commission member Volodymyr Luhanskyi, as well as at his place of residence. Also, a notice of suspicion was served to Mr Luhanskyi under part four of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the NABU, the subject of the investigation in the criminal proceedings is the legality of using the Doctor of Philosophy degree obtained by
Mr Luhanskyi in 2011 to calculate a supplement to his official salary since 2015.
It shall be emphasized, that the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine adheres to the principle of presumption of innocence. Volodymyr Luhanskyi is assisting the pre-trial investigation body in establishing the objective truth in the case.
In view of the above circumstances, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has decided to appeal to the High Council of Justice to take measures to ensure the authority of justice.
