The OSCE/ODIHR Opinion on the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges” has been published at the Commission’s web-site

We are presenting to attention of the legal community the OSCE/ODIHR Opinion on the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”.

According to the Opinion the OSCE evaluated positively the changes in the legislation that took place in result of judicial reform. In particular, it welcomed changes for increasing transparency of the judiciary, as well as facilitating its optimization and ensuring the unity of jurisprudence in Ukraine. At the same time, the document focuses on provisions that, according to OSCE experts, require amendments or further improvements. The Opinion contains an analysis and recommendations for accommodating key concerns in the Law on Judiciary and Status of Judges.
